The Leaders of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) highlighted the Council's blessed start 25 years ago under the patronage of Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahayan, and lauded the achievements accomplished by it in the service of the GCC states as well as for the Arab and Muslim causes. These remarks were contained in the final communiqué issued here today at the end of the 26th session of the GCC Supreme Council. The summit was held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and in the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; King Hamad al-Khalifa of Bahrain; Sultan Qaboos of Oman; Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Premier, as well as GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman Al-Atiyyah. --MORE 1524 Local Time 1224 GMT
