Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, the President of the East Mediterranean Regional Bureau at the International Agency for Combating Blindness, asserted that Saudi Arabia has made great strides toward eliminating trachoma which causes blindness. In a press statement while attending a scientific gathering on combating trachoma which began here today, he said trachoma can be avoided by frequently washing hands and face with clean water. Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmad highlighted Saudi leaders' support for medical care in Saudi Arabia which, he said, is free from active trachoma.
