At least 44 people have died in two separate bus accidents in Mexico, one of which involved a gas tanker, news reports said Wednesday. One of the accidents, which took place Tuesday evening in the northwest Mexican province of Sinaloa, occurred when a tanker rammed a bus because of faulty breaks, the newspaper "El Noroeste" reported citing police sources. The collision caused toxic ammonium chloride gas to spill out of the tanker, delaying rescue efforts Tuesday evening, the paper said. The bus, meanwhile, overturned multiple times. A separate crash involving a truck and a bus about 220 kilometres north of Mexico City reportedly killed six people and injured 26 others. --SP 2054 Local Time 1754 GMT
