Two people were killed and eight were injured in 12 separate accidents on Wednesday on a freeway in east China's Shandong Province, Xinhua reported. The collisions all took place inside Zaozhuang City, with 32 motor vehicles involved, including four tankers containing harmful chemicals. There were no chemical spills in the collisions, said Shandong Provincial Work Safety Bureau. The provincial safety watchdog blamed poor visibility caused by foggy weather for the collisions, which led to temporary traffic disruptions on the north-south freeway that links Beijing and Fuzhou, capital of southeast Fujian Province. Motor vehicles damaged in the collisions were all tugged away and traffic resumed at midday, said Shandong Provincial Public Security Department.
