Fifteen people have been confirmed dead and 15 injured after a head-on collision between a bus and a diesel tanker on Friday in northeast China's Jilin Province, Xinhua reported. "The accident occurred at 9:00 a.m. on a road in Meihekou City," said an official with the provincial work safety administration. Both vehicles caught fire. There were 28 people on the bus and two people on the tanker when the accident happened, according to the work safety administration. The injured, including six who were seriously hurt, were taken to hospital, where all are described as out of danger. Witnesses told Xinhua that both vehicles had tried to pass the highway section that was under construction and failed to give way to each other before the head-on collision. Four fire engines and eight ambulances went to the site. The fire on the tanker was put out in time, preventing the tanker from explosion. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
