Saudi Deputy Minister for Interior Prince Ahmad bin Abdul Aziz arrives in Islamabad on Sunday (November 6) to review the massive Saudi relief operations in the earthquake affected areas of Pakistan. Some ministers, members of Saudi Shoura (consultative) Council and several senior government officials will be included in the high-powered delegation, Saudi Ambassador in Islamabad Ali Awadh Asseri told The Saudi Press Agency. The Saudi delegation arrives in Pakistan in response to special directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Kind Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz to express solidarity with the leadership, the government and the people of Pakistan for the destruction caused by the earthquake that struck on October 8. The delegation will visit the quake devastated areas in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir and meet the affected people. They would convey a message of sympathy and brotherhood to them from the leadership, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia and assure them that Saudi Arabia will stand firm with them in this hour of trial and do every thing possible to alleviate their suffering and pain. The members of the delegation will also call on the Pakistani leadership to personally convey the shock and horror that the Saudi leadership has suffered on account of the widespread destruction caused by the earthquake. They will also try to evaluate the specific need for further assistance for the quake-affected people. The visit reflects the feelings of friendship and brotherhood that bind Saudi Arabia and Pakistan together in an enduring relationship, Asseri said.
