Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Atiq Ahmed visited the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad on Monday to express solidarity with the leadership, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia. He requested Saudi Ambassador Ali S. Awadh Asseri to convey the gratefulness of the government and people of Azad Kashmir to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the government and the people of brotherly Saudi Arabia for the unprecedented Saudi contribution towards the reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts of the areas that had been devastated due to the tragic earthquake in October 2005. Saudi Arabia had emerged as the single largest donor of humanitarian assistance to the relief efforts in the wake of the devastating earthquake. Asseri reiterated on behalf of the leadership, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia, total support to the ongoing relief efforts in the quake-hit areas. He expressed his leadership and government's support to the ongoing composite dialogue between Pakistan and India to resolve all outstanding issues between the two neighborly countries and hoped that the core issue of the state of Jammu & Kashmir would be resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. The ambassador thanked the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister for visiting the embassy in an expression of solidarity and assured him that the leadership, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia will continue to extend unqualified support to the unity, integrity, independence, sovereignty and stability of brotherly Pakistan and the progress and prosperity of its wonderful people and the people of Kashmir.
