Denmark's defense chief, Gen. Hans Jesper Helsoe, was to testify Monday in the trial of a Danish army captain and four co-defendants charged with mistreating detainees in Iraq. The five defendants are accused of forcing three Iraqi detainees to kneel on the floor in a detention facility, denying them water and verbally humiliating them during an interrogation on March 9, 2004. The defendants have denied any wrongdoing. If convicted, they could each face up to a year in prison, The Associated Press reported.
