Two Saudis are among five Guantanamo inmates whose trial for their role in Sept. 11 attacks on US begins on June 5. Te other detainees include two Kuwaitis and a Yemeni. The five, under detention for over five years, will be charged with murder, terrorism and war crimes. The Saudis are Walid Mohammad Saleh Mubarak Bin Attash and Mostafa Ahmad Adam Al-Hosawi, Al-Hayat reported on Monday. According to The Associated Press report, judge Ralph Coleman, a Marine Colonel, will preside over the trial. The five defendants will be allowed to enter a guilty plea but it was unclear whether they can do otherwise. The five were arrested between 2002 and 2003 and were detained for a number of years in secret CIA prisons outside US territory. They were moved to Guantanamo prison in 2006. All these years, the defendants were not allowed access to their attorneys. They could interact with the attorneys only after charges were formalized against them in February this year. The US claims that that it denied the defendants a meeting with their attorneys in view of the extremely confidential nature of their interrogation. __
