The United Nations on Saturday loaded 40 trucks with plastic sheeting, tents, blankets and other aid to haul into neighboring Pakistan to help victims of the devastating earthquake. The trucks were to leave Sunday and were expected to reach towns in hard-hit Kashmir by Monday, said Charles Vincent, the director of the U.N. World Food Program in Afghanistan. The deployment is the latest aid to come from Afghanistan. The government has sent helicopters, doctors and food to its neighbor, while U.S. military forces based here have been sending daily aid flights, The Associated Press reported.
