A dedication ceremony of delivering a Saudi anti-locust aircraft was held last night at Dakar air base. The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gifted the plane to the Republic of Senegal to help combat desert locust in collaboration with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAW). The ceremony was attended by Senegal's Chief of Air Staff Col. Mohammed Mustafa Jawara, a representative of FAW and representative of the Saudi Embassy in Dakar. Addressing the gathering, the FAW representative reminded that last year the Kingdom has donated $one million to Senegal to finance the campaign to combat desert locust in the West African country. He said the cost of the aircraft was 415 million African Franc and that part of the money will be used to train pilots and mechanics. On his part, the Director of the office of the Minister of Agriculture and Water of Senegal thanked the Kingdom's government and people for the continuing support for Senegal's campaign against the spread of the epidemic.
