Three U.S. service members were wounded when their convoy was attacked about 40 kilometres east of Kabul on Friday, U.S. military said Saturday in a statement carried by dpa. "The wounded service members were evacuated to the Bagram Airfield hospital for treatment. They are in stable condition," the statement added. The injured were taken to Bagram airport, 50 kilometres north of Kabul and the main U.S. military base in Afghanistan. "The doctors are doing all they can to make sure each of them makes a swift and full recovery," the statement quoted Michael Doyle, deputy commander for Clinical Services for Task Force Strength as saying. --SP 0007 Local Time 2107 GMT
