The Board of Directors of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) has decided to increase the minimum of pensions for citizens contributing to Social Insurance System and the minimum of inheritance pensions each by 15 percent, effective 1/9/1426 H., it was reported today. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Minister of Labor Dr. Ghazi bin Abdulrahman Algosaibi, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of GOSI, said the minimum of monthly wages for those benefiting from pensions system were also increased from SR1200 to SR1500, effective 1/1/1427 H. for corporations using the Higra calendar and from 1/1/2006 for those using Gregorian. The Minister said the GOSI board of directors decision has been inspired in accordance with the spirit of an order recently issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to increase by 15 percent the salaries of all categories of personnel of governmental bodies, including the military and Shoura Council.
