DAMMAM — The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) has issued 1,456 citations until the third quarter this year against employers who were found guilty of falsifying records of unemployed Saudis to circumvent the Nitaqat System, said Abdullah Al-Abduljabar, director of insurance media at GOSI. He said the number of the Saudis registered in GOSI's pension system and who had no employment relationship with these establishments has reached 2,006. There is continuing coordination between the Ministry of Labor and GOSI to bar these violating establishments from foreign recruitment. Al-Abduljabar said the law strictly prevents employers from registering any Saudi in the organization's pension system who does not work for them. Such violations are referred to the investigation committee at GOSI. He said violators are fined SR5,000 for each case and the registered subscription period will be canceled no matter whether it is a long or short one. Additional penalties will also be considered. — SG
