Police have arrested three security guards for killing three people including a British-Kenyan hotelier near a Kenyan town favoured for weekend getaways, police said on Saturday. Gunmen shot dead John Roger Goldson, proprietor of the Crater Lake Hotel 30 km (19 miles) from Naivasha, as he went to investigate the shooting of a Kenyan motorist and his wife just outside the hotel on Tuesday, police said, according Reuters. The motorist, John Mwangi, died instantly, while his wife Pauline Wanjiku was seriously injured. She survived. One of the attackers was also shot by his colleagues. The three arrested on Friday are watchmen in a nearby town, and were linked to the crime after police identified the dead attacker, police said. They may be part of a wider ring of criminals, police said. "We shall be raiding a house in the area that we suspect is the hideout for the thugs who have been harassing whites living in the area," said Seroney Kiberenge, head of the Criminal Investigation Division in Naivasha. Detectives are seeking a motive for the attack.
