Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani said that the Islamic civilization and heritage are facing great challenges and confrontations from inside and abroad. Addressing the 6th session of Information Ministerial Follow-up Committee of the Organization of Islamic Conference here today, he emphasized the importance of the media in confronting the challenges facing the Arab and Islamic nations. He also added that the Kingdom has been determining on performing all its responsibilities for the Organization including joint information actions. Madani noted that practical steps have been taken concerning the Disaster Fund during the Organization's meetings in its headquarters in Jeddah, calling for holding a conference to be a major core of such a Fund.
