A truck plunged off a cliff in central Sri Lanka, killing at least five people and injuring 13 others, police said Tuesday. "Initial reports indicate that heavy fog in the area may have blurred the driver's vision," said Rienzie Perera, a police spokesman. "We are still not sure how many people were originally in the vehicle," he said, adding that the injured had been admitted to a nearby hospital. The Associated Press quoted Perera as saying that authorities were finding it difficult to recover the bodies from the 2,640-meter (800-meter) drop in the mountainous region of Haputale, about 180 kilometers (112 miles) northeast of the capital, Colombo.
