A truck plunged off a cliff in a mountainous southern Russian region, killing five people and injuring one, officials said Wednesday. The driver lost control of the truck in heavy snow on a road in the mountains of Dagestan late Tuesday and drove it off a 30-meter (100-foot) cliff, the region's Deputy Emergency Situations Minister Oleg Khalilov said. He said the driver and four passengers, one of them a woman, were killed, and the single surviving passenger was hospitalized.
