Landmine kills two children in Kosovo, injures three

Two children from an Albanian family were killed and three other children injured in a landmine blast Sunday as they played near their home, local police confirmed.
The mine detonated just 500 metres from the family home in the town of Klina in the province of Tiere. The region was not previously believed to be a heavily mined area.
Injuries to two of the children are reported to be life- threatening, according to police in the district town of Pec.
The background to the accident remains unclear.
