Forty-four people were injured Friday, six seriously, in an accident involving a bus ferrying passengers between Charleroi airport and Brussels. The bus was carrying 56 people, Belgium's Belga news agency reported. The passengers were believed to be of varying nationalities although most of them were said to be Asian or American. The accident tore the link bus in two, with the force of the impact hurling passengers in the back section out of the vehicle. A police spokesman told local radio that the exact cause of the accident was still unclear. --SP 0015 Local Time 2115 GMT
