The U.N. Security Council on Friday condemned in "the strongest possible" terms the execution of Egypt's envoy to Baghdad, Ihab al-Sherif, by his kidnappers. It also condemned "all terrorist attacks" in Iraq, including attempted assassinations of envoys from Pakistan and Bahrain last week. Egyptian government confirmed that his kidnappers had executed al- Sherif following his abduction on Sunday. "The Security Council emphasizes that there can be no justification for such terrorist acts and underlines the need to bring to justice the perpetrators," the council said in a statement read by its president, Greek Ambassador Adamantios Vassilakis. --SP 0010 Local Time 2110 GMT
