The 32nd session of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference wrapped up its deliberations in Sanaa today. In a key address at the closing ceremony, Yemen's Foreign Minister Dr. Abdu-Bakr Algarbi said the success of the conference should be attributed to all participants and the host country as well. He called on the OIC member countries to strictly implement the decisions and recommendations of the meeting. He welcomed the observer status granted to Russia by the OIC member states. In a final communiqué, the conferees said they dealt with a number of political, economic, human, cultural and legal issues of concern to the nation. The statement cited Alquds issue, situations in Iraq, Somalia, and Jammu and Kashmir, support for Syria to retake the Golan Heights, support for Lebanon to restore its sovereignty, support for peace between India and Pakistan, pro-election situation in Afghanistan, peace in Sudan, Turkish Cyprus issue, Azerbaijan and Armenian occupation of parts of its land, weapons of mass destruction disarmament issue, and the representation of the Islamic group in the United Nation's Security Council.
