Khalid bin Mohammed Algosaibi, the Minister of Economy and Planning, led the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab Social Affairs Ministers and Planning Ministers conference which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League on the developmental goals of the millennium. The morning session, which issued the Arab Declaration on the Follow-up Implementation of the developmental objectives of the millennium, discussed a strategy to reduce poverty levels and push economy growth through the increase of investment rates, the confirmation of right to basic education and elementary health care, and enhancement of Arab and Islamic values on rights of women and the handicapped. The meeting also underscored the importance of inserting the developmental objectives of the millennium in the national strategies, plans, goals and policies.
