AlQa'dah 5, 1432, Oct 3, 2011, SPA -- The 58th session of the Executive Office of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council kicked off on Monday, the General Secretariat of the Arab League said. During the session, the office will prepare recommendations and resolution drafts of the upcoming ministerial-level meeting of the council which will discuss Arab cooperation in various social affairs fields. The meeting, to be held in December, will discuss enhancing the council's role in dealing with requirements of the current stage, the Arab region's developments, the ability to support Somalia and Djibouti in dealing with natural disasters and means of activating strategies to address Arab poverty, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported. The December meeting will also follow up the implementation of the declaration of the Arab Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the Arab Decade for people with Special Needs, resolutions of the Arab Economic Summit and some other issues relating to child labor, family counseling, family development and Arab Children Parliament.
