Two soldiers from Germany's Bundeswehr were killed in an accidental explosion, Kunduz provincial Governor Muhammad Omar said Saturday, confirming information obtained by DPA. The munitions explosion also killed six Afghan workers. The Potsdam-based Bundeswehr command in charge of foreign deployments would not immediately confirm the incident. Initial reports were that three German troops had died. Omar said that the blast took place Saturday in neighbouring Takhar province, where an Afghan commander had turned over munitions to the German forces. A portion of the cache detonated while being loaded onto a truck.
