Top British and Dutch defense officials met in the Netherlands Wednesday to discuss foreign operations and the upcoming British presidency of the European Union. Also on the agenda of talks between British Defense Secretary John Reid and Dutch Defense Minister Henk Kamp were Bosnia, Sudan and Afghanistan, where the Netherlands has special forces and Apache helicopter detachments. The Dutch said Tuesday they are prepared to send an additional 1,000 troops to Afghanistan, on top of a current 300 forces, The Associated Press reported.
