Britain will send 3,300 new troops to southern Afghanistan to help rebuild the country in the next few months as it takes over command of a NATO mission there in May, Secretary of Defense John Reid said on Thursday. "We aim for these deployments to be fully operational by July this year," Reid told parliament, according to a report of Reuters.
