The ministers of Planning, Development and Economy of The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) countries started here today the 14th meeting of the Ministerial Committee of Planning and Development. At the outset of the meeting, Bahraini Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the meeting Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifah, welcomed the delegations participating in the meeting and expressed optimism that it would have 'fruitful' results and adopt 'useful' recommendations. On behalf of the GCC Secretary General, its Assistant Secretary General for economic Affairs Mohammed Al-Mazro'ai delivered a speech in which he said that the meeting will discuss a number of important issues such as studying the human resources development in the GCC countries, drafting regulations pertaining to the nationalization of the private sector and seeking the accomplishment of 'smart card' to facilitate the Gulf citizenship. Following this, the Ministers held a closed-door session. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
