The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Commission for Planning and Development holds its 15th meeting on Sunday in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Attiyah said that the meeting comes within the efforts of the GCC to increase coordination in the field of planning and development. Al-Attiyah added that the GCC has achieved a lot in this field including the implementation of a long-term comprehensive development strategy for 2000-2025, preparation of studies on unemployment and population policy and other accomplishments. He also said that the commission will discuss a number of crucial issues in the light of the decisions and recommendations of the Committee of Under Secretaries from development and planning ministries in the GCC countries and other committees. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
