A sightseeing helicopter with seven people onboard crashed into New York City's East River on Tuesday, with federal authorities saying that all were rescued, dpa reported. The helicopter made a hard landing on the river apparently after encountering rotor trouble, local news said. Television networks showed the craft was underwater but being kept afloat with inflatables required on all helicopters, dpa reported. Reports said it was trying to land on the Wall Street helipad on the East River, but instead crashed into the waters. The federal aviation authority said the six passengers and one pilot were rescued even though two were injured and taken to a hospital. A doctor at the hospital, Antonio Dajer, said one of the two injured spoke with a foreign accent and assumed that he was a tourist, reports said.
