A roadside bomb blast killed one Iraqi civilian and wounded another Sunday near the northern oil-rich city of Kirkuk, a police official said. The attack happened near Oyoun, a village 55 kilometers (31 miles) west of Kirkuk, said army Maj. Gen. Anwar Mohammed Amin. Amin said he also escaped an assassination attempt late Saturday when two roadside bombs exploded near his military convoy between Kirkuk and Hawija to the southeast, AP reported.
