Two people died when an explosion ripped through a car in the Russian city of St. Petersburg on Sunday, the ITAR-Tass news agency reported. Quoting city police, the agency reported that preliminary information indicated a bomb had been placed in the parked car and exploded when its owner opened the door. It said investigators were trying to determine the identity of the victims and the type of explosive. The report said nothing about a possible motive, but Russia is plagued by violence linked to business disputes. St. Petersburg police could not immediately be reached for comment, AP reported.
