A Philippine military helicopter crashed on Thursday in a mountainous region, killing all nine people on board, a military spokesman said. The U.S.-made Bell UH-1H chopper crashed about 100 km (60 miles) north of Manila during a flight to survey damage from landslides, Lieutenant-Colonel Restituto Padilla said. "There were reports of an explosion, but we don't know if it was upon impact or while in mid-air," Padilla told reporters.
