Czech Prime Minister Stanislav Gross, mired in a real estate scandal, will resign Monday, the Prague-based news service CTK reported late Sunday citing informed sources. A social democrat, Gross was previously not expected to quit before Tuesday. Gross is likely to negotiate a new governing coalition with the Czech Republic's liberals and Christian democrats before turning in his resignation to President Vaclav Klaus, CTK reported. Jiri Paroubek, the current minister for regional affairs, is expected to take over from Gross.
