Czech President Vaclav Klaus said on Friday he will begin talks on early elections if a three-party coalition confirms it cannot reach a deal on forming a new government. Klaus said in a statement that a coalition government or early elections -- the next scheduled vote is mid-2006 -- are the only options to end a political crisis that has caused Prime Minister Stanislav Gross's administration to disintegrate. Gross's Social Democrats rejected a deal on Thursday that would have seen him resign to allow for the formation of a new majority government with the centrist Christian Democrats and the rightist Freedom Union.
