At least one coalition soldier was killed and another one injured Sunday evening when their vehicle hit a mine in the southern province of Kandahar, the U.S. military confirmed. "The wounded soldier was medically evacuated from the area," said Cindy Moore, spokeswoman for the U.S.-led coalition forces. Abdullatif Hakimi, a spokesman for Taliban rebels, claimed responsibility for the blast and said that the victims were Romanian soldiers. According to Hakimi the incident took place near Spin Boldak in the northwest of Kandahar province. Currently there are some 20,000 U.S-led troops hunting the remnants of the Taliban and their al-Qaeeda allies, mainly in south and southeastern Afghanistan.
