The 18th International Conference for the Islamic Unity began here today its deliberations. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the conference is led by Minister of Education Dr Abdullah Al-Obeid. The participants of the 3-day conference will review problems faced by Muslims as well as issues pertaining to the Islamic solidarity and means of achieving rapprochement of views in the scientific and cultural domains. In addition to Saudi Arabia, delegations from Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, The Sudan, Libya. Palestine, Jordan, Denmark, the US, Britain, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Australia, Thailand, China, The Ivory Coast, Gambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Senegal, Guinea and Azerbaijan are participating in the conference, held under the title of 'Rapprochement Strategy for the Islamic Schools'.
