Indian Minister of Finance P. Chidambaram is arriving to attend the 6th Saudi-Indo Joint Economic Committee Meeting in Riyadh scheduled for April 12 and 13, Saudi Gazette reported today. A 20-member business delegation is also scheduled to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia coinciding the joint economic committee meeting, said Azar A.H. Khan, First Secretary (Economic, Commerce) at the Indian Embassy. The arrival dates of both delegations are at the final stage of negotiations, but most likely the joint economic committee meeting between the two sides will be held on April 12 and 13, Khan said. He said the agenda of meeting is largely to discuss economic cooperation between the two countries in sectors such as Information Technology (IT), energy, health-care services, culture and education. The economic joint committee between the two sides alternates meetings in India and Saudi Arabia. The last such meeting was held in New Delhi in 1997. Chidambaram is coming soon after a successful three-day visit of Mani Shankar Aiyar, India s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Aiyar, who led a 15-member oil delegation left the Kingdom Thursday. --MORE 1058 Local Time 0758 GMT
