A U.S. Marine was killed in Ramadi, the military said Saturday. The Marine, assigned to the First Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, was killed Friday by enemy fire while conducting security operations, the military said. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. As of Friday, April 1, 2005, at least 1,532 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
