The Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) and the Iranian Pilgrims and Visitors Organization signed here today a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for transporting Iranian Umrah (minor Hajj) performers during this year. The MOU was signed by Dr Khaled Bakr, the Director General of SAA, and Ahmad Zarhani, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Islamic Guidance and Head of the Iranian Pilgrims and Visitors Organization. Under the MOU, SAA will transport 350,000 Iranian Umrah performers effective 22/2/1426AH up to 21/9/1426AH. Flights will be operated to and from 14 Iranian cities to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah, while the return flights will be from King Abdulaziz International Airport of Jeddah. Dr Bakr highlighted the existing cooperation between SAA and the Iranian Pilgrims and Visitors Organization. He reiterated the keenness of SAA on extending the best possible services to the pilgrims and Umrah performers. Meanwhile, Dr Bakr expected that SAA will transport more than two million Umrah performers from various parts of the world in addition to Umrah performers from inside the Kingdom. On his part, Ahmad Zarhani said the signing of the MOU embodies the existing fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran.
