Two freight trains collided near Bangladesh's capital Monday, killing at least one person and injuring two others, an official said. The accident occurred in Gazipur district, about 30 kilometers (20 miles) north of Dhaka, Bangladesh Railway's traffic official Golam Mostafa said. At least six train cars derailed, disrupting train services along the major Dhaka-Chittagong route, he said. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
