The Economic and Development Affairs Council convened a virtual meeting to discuss various topics on its agenda. Among the topics discussed were reports and presentations on the latest health developments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia related to the COVID-19 pandemic, presented by the Ministry of Health. The council also reviewed economic and development issues, including a periodic presentation by the Ministry of Economy and Planning on local and global economic developments. The presentation included important indicators related to the national economy, especially the growth witnessed by various national economic sectors at the level of large number of sectors and activities during the last period, and an overview of the conditions of the global economy, as well as the latest developments during the last period and an analysis of the most prominent indicators. The Council was briefed on a presentation from the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in coordination with the concerned entities toward the level of achieved progress of giant projects, including NEOM, the Red Sea, Qiddiya, Roshn, and Diriyah Gate. The Council discussed the presentation submitted by the Ministry of Tourism on the transformation of the tourism sector since the launch of the National Tourism Strategy, as it dealt with the most important updates and achievements at the level of the tourism sector in the Kingdom and included strategic directions, and the most prominent future steps. It also discussed the indicators of the sector's contribution to development. The Council took the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding these issues.
