A delegation from the Republic of Austria headed by the Federal Minister of Labour and Economy, Martin Kocher visited the Kingdom with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation and discussing joint future opportunities in the economic, trade and investment fields. The delegation comprised officials and leaders from the public and private sectors, including representatives of Austrian companies. The delegation met with ministers, and senior public and private sector officials to discuss developing bilateral relations in various fields, and developments in areas of common interest. During the visit, a Saudi-Austrian investment roundtable was held with the aim of strengthening economic relations between the two countries, reviewing business opportunities and enhancing communication between them. The Austrian delegation was also taken on a tour of the historic Al-Turaif District and Al Bujairi Terrace, where they learned about the Kingdom's rich history and ancient culture. The eight-session of the Saudi-Austrian Joint Committee was held in Riyadh in March 2022; it discussed the economic situation, and opportunities to cooperate to serve the interests of the two countries. The 9th session is slated to be held in Vienna in 2024.
