The 4th trade and investment dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the United States of America (USA) was held today at the headquarters of the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh, which comes within the framework of the strategic partnership between GCC and USA. The meeting was co-chaired by the Assistant Secretary for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Aluwaisheg, and the Deputy Assistant USA Trade Representative, Mark Murray. A number of experts and specialists from the USA and GCC member states, the GCC Secretariat General, the GCC Standardization Organization, and the Patent Office took part in the dialogue. The meeting discussed trade and investment issues and the future of trade cooperation between the two sides, in addition to regulatory aspects, commercial and investment laws, e-commerce, specifications, and standards. The meeting also discussed the joint action plan to implement the framework agreement between the two sides that was concluded in 2012.
