The Working Group on Trade and Investment between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the United Kingdom held meeting here today, at the headquarters of the Secretariat of the (GCC). The meeting was chaired by Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations Dr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Ouaisheq and the United Kingdom's Department of International Trade Nick Clements, with the participation of trade and investment specialists, form both sides. Dr. Al-Ouaisheq explained that the meeting falls within the framework of the implementation of the outcomes of the first summit between the GCC and the United Kingdom held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in December 2016. He pointed out that the two sides discussed enhancing the relations between the GCC and the United Kingdom, especially in the trade and economic fields and reviewing the opportunities for trade and investment cooperation, in the field of banking, support for small and medium enterprises as well as ways to encourage the private sector and the business community, in the finance domain and cooperation between chambers of commerce and industry, in the GCC member states and the UK, as well.
