The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States and the European Union (EU) launched yesterday the 4th Trade and Investment Dialogue at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, to discuss the new developments in trade and investment exchange between the two sides, in light of ongoing efforts to tackle the (Covid-19) pandemic and its economic repercussions, and the political developments in the European Union. The meeting was chaired by GCC Assistant Secretary for Political Affairs and Negotiations Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek and Léon Delvaux, Acting Director - Directorate E chez European Commission, DG Trade. The two sides discussed the cooperation and future of trade and investment, in addition to the regulatory aspects and commercial laws, raising the level of exchanging expertise and developments between the two sides, benefiting from the European Union's experience in identifying specifications and standards of goods, and improving cooperation between the two parties in these areas.
