Dr. Ghazi bin Abdulrahman Algosaibi, the Minister of Labor, issued a statement today on the outcome of a campaign organized by the Ministry of Labor to determine the number of Saudi job-seekers and work to employ them. He said a campaign conducted by the Ministry two months ago revealed that the number of Saudi job-seekers amounted to 155.579, representing 4.9 percent of the total Saudi male work force. Regarding females, he said, the matter needs extra preparation. Most of job-seekers are youth with their age ranging between 16 and 25, representing 68 percent of the total job-seekers, he said. He said most of them also concentrate in Riyadh, Abha, Jeddah, Madinah, Jizan, Ihsa, Makkah and Taif. The next step is to find jobs for them in cooperation between the labor ministry, employers and Human Resources Fund, designed to support the private sector through shouldering part of the financial burden of a new employee, he said, adding that the computerized process will help the ministry determine the number of those who have benefited from the program. --More 2252 Local Time 1952 GMT
