The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, met at SFDA HQ in Riyadh today with the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi, and the Director of Standards at the British Standards Institute (BSI), Dr. Scott Steadman. During the meeting, they discussed joint cooperation opportunities between the two sides, and reviewed latest developments in food standards, medical devices, and regulatory and analytical fields. It is noteworthy that BSI has a leading role in developing a new generation of standards to help organizations become better and more responsible management. BSI also cooperates with experts in new areas such as smart cities, nanotechnologies and cell therapy. The BSI operates as the UK's national standards body, participating in the development of industry-relevant standards, commenting on draft standards, consumer representation, providing solutions and services to improve performance and support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by sharing knowledge, innovation and best practices to help individuals and institutions.
