Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy and Industry Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiya has met President General Pervez Musharraf and discussed a host of issues, according to an official statement. "Pakistan and Qatar enjoy excellent fraternal ties and there is a need to further enhance these relations through increased bilateral economic cooperation," the President told the Qatar minister. The Qatari deputy prime minister heading a four-member delegation is currently in Pakistan. He termed as "excellent" his interaction with the Pakistani leadership and officials at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources. The areas of economic interest, being looked at by both sides, include greater cooperation in the oil and gas sector, including the possibility of setting up a gas pipeline from Qatar to Pakistan.
