Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh received, in Riyadh today, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furqat Sidiqov, and the accompanying delegation, on the sideline of his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, Al-Sheikh underlined the historic and strong relations between the two countries, looking forward to strengthening and developing them in various fields, especially the parliamentary cooperation between the Shura Council and the Uzbek Parliament. The Speaker gave an overview of the working mechanism of the Shura Council and the roles played by the parliamentary friendship committees with counterpart parliaments, stressing the importance of activating the roles of the parliamentary friendship committees in the Shura Council and the Uzbek Parliament and increasing bilateral meetings and visits. The Uzbek official said the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, makes great efforts at the regional and international levels in combating terrorism and extremism and bringing peace to the Middle East and the world at large, noting that the Kingdom's vision 2030, is an example to follow and will contribute to the renaissance of the entire Islamic world. He also reiterated his country's support for Saudi Arabia's hosting of "Expo 2030".
